Workshops 2026
Here are the wonderful workshops that ran at our event in April 2026. The workshops for 2027 will be shown here from mid November.
Learn the techniques for producing Mosaic Knitting and see how it can be used in lots of different ways. To learn, we'll work on making a small pouch (iPhone size). Please bring knitting needles appropriate for the yarn brought to the workshop. Recommended 3.00mm/3.25mm with 4 ply.
The workshop is run by Iris of Knitterish Designs who is an experienced knitter and tutor.

THIS WORKSHOP HAS TAKEN PLACE
Learn the basics of drop spindle spinning. We'll cover drafting and adding twist using a drop spindle to make yarn. We'll also talk about plying and finishing your yarn.
You'll go home with a kit, including a drop spindle, British wool fibre and instructions so you can practice your new skills at home.
The workshop is run by Fiona of A Little Bit Sheepish who is an experienced spinner, knitter, feltmaker and tutor.
COST: This workshop costs £30 which includes a drop spindle, 100g British wool fibre and an instruction sheet.
DAY: SATURDAY and SUNDAY

THIS WORKSHOP HAS TAKEN PLACE
Join Tricia Basham of the Knitting and Crochet Guild (Leeds Branch) for an introduction to lace knitting. You'll create a sample piece whilst learning new skills to apply to your knitted projects. All materials are provided, just bring a couple of stitch markers to help keep your place.
Attendees must have basic knitting skills, be able to cast on, knit and purl.
COST: This workshop costs £15.

THIS WORKSHOP HAS TAKEN PLACE
Learn to do the ancient (Mesolithic) craft of Nalbinding. By using a single sewing needle and a length of wool used for making bags, socks, hats and many other items. You'll learn the York stitch, Hansen notation, joining, increasing, decreasing in the round and flat. Full handouts will be provided to take home with the worked samples. More samples of stitches will be available for examination.
The workshop is run by Sue Day of Blotz Natural Dyes who is an experienced crafter and tutor.
COST: This workshop costs £25 which covers everything you need including handouts to take home.

THIS WORKSHOP HAS TAKEN PLACE
Come and learn how to use felting needles and wool to make an adorable felted friend. During the class we will go through making the centre structure for your animal from core wool and how to decorate it using the coloured fibres provided. The kit included in the class has all you need to keep going at home and make some more animals. Includes the wool, tools for needle felting and printed instructions.

Learn how to make a Yorkshire Button with the ladies from the Knitting and Crochet Guild. You'll be provided with a button template and the materials to make the button. These can be taken away after the workshop.
It would be useful to bring a tapestry needle and some small scissors. No previous experience is required.

Daisy will provide everything you need to complete your own vibrant tulip picture during the 1-hour, needle felting workshop! Perfect for beginners with lots of options to customise your project, including the felt base you'll be working on! Maybe you fancy creating a bespoke piece of art or decorating your own scissors case, glasses case or mini plant pot.

A fun introductory needle felting workshop, to bring your choice of beetle, bee or ladybird to life! Your finished 2.5D item can be made into a quirky piece of jewelry, dainty hanging ornament or miniature piece of art. Everything is provided and no experience is required.

THIS WORKSHOP HAS TAKEN PLACE
A fun couple of hours learning and making a wonderful wool wrag wreath. You’ll choose from a heart or round shaped wreath, and tie pre-cut strips of wool to create your own unique wreath to enjoy for years to come. All materials are provided. Suitable for all abilities.

THIS WORKSHOP HAS TAKEN PLACE
Learn the therapeutic craft of peg loom weaving and make a mat that can be used as a seat pad, kneeling mat, pet mat or wall hanging. You’ll weave with British wool from different breeds, both carded wool and washed fleece, giving a variety of natural shades and textures. You'll learn how to warp, weave, tighten and tie off for a high quality finish to your chunky mat. This is the perfect craft for spinners who will never get through their stash.
The workshop is run by Sophie Heywood of The Peg Loomer who is a weaver and tutor.

THIS WORKSHOP HAS TAKEN PLACE
Get started with this exciting new skill. We'll cover the basics of Tunisian crochet, including how to get started, three types of stitch and how to finish off your project. During the class we will practice the stitches on a small swatch. You need to have basic crochet skills - how to make a chain and form crochet stitches. The class includes instructions and yarn to make a cowl or mitts using the stitches you have learnt. It also includes a Tunisian crochet hook.
For the 10am start time, you'll be able to enter the event early (and go to the front of the queue).

THIS WORKSHOP HAS TAKEN PLACE
Create a beautiful felted bowl using merino wool/silk. You'll learn a 3d wet felting technique including how to use a resist and adding surface decoration. No prior skills are required. Please bring scissors and a small towel. Everything else is provided.
This workshop is run by Lamorna Thomas who is an experienced feltmaker and tutor, and member of the International Feltmakers Association.
